Anyone on Stelara?

I have had crohns for 25 years. Had resection surgery in 1993. Been on humira for about 8 years but it isn’t removing inflammation. Doctor wants me to try Stelara. Has anyone had success with Stelara after using humira? Any comments on success with Stelara would be appreciated. Feel pretty healthy but colonoscopies show chronic inflammation and long stricture. Don’t feel sick but I guess I am. Trying to avoid surgeries. Is remission really possible?

I’m in remission using stelara! 2.5 years. Best I’ve been in 30 years with IBD. Side effects vary but for me it’s mostly yeast infections. Joint pain is now managed with benedryl for 3 days post injection. I went to the infusion clinic today for the injection & it looked like death in there. So grateful I’m finally not looking/feeling like that anymore.

Calace, Humira & Stelara work completely differently so you cannot compare them. There has been some members on here that has reported very good results with Stelara. If it were me, I would sure give it a fair trial.

It has worked great for me since I got the proper dosing. I've been on it twice, the first time I was given the psoriasis dosing prior to the FDA approving it for CD. It was ineffective at that dosage and I had to stop it for 6 months due to a hip replacement. I was later to restart it with an IV loading dose and 90 mgs every 56 days. It's been great ever since.

I did not develop any antibodies when I discontinued Stelara. My GI loves the stuff.
