[I don't know if there is more than one brand of shingles vaccine, but I was told about one being a live vaccine, and to be careful if you are having immune issues? Maybe ask your doctor, they are better to advise before you proceed, not just for the shingles vaccine but for all live vaccines?
My reply is a little late, but maybe it will help somebody who reads.
The previous generation shingles vaccine, Zostavax, was a live vaccine and could be an issue for people on immunosuppressant medications.
The newer shingles vaccine, Shingrix is not a live vaccine.
Zostavax was approved in the US around 2005, and by 2020 it was no longer used in the US except in rare cases. Other countries may still use it.
Shingrix was approved in the mid 2010s, I think, and is now the only one available in the US.
