I have been away from HW for some time now. There were the normal ups and downs of Crohn’s and I’m still on Remicade every 8 weeks. Almost 2 months ago, I started to have rectal soiling. At the beginning my GI attributed it to the COVID 19 vaccine and mentioned that it increased inflammation. Meanwhile, I was put on pentasa supp in the morning and busesonide enema at night but these didn’t play the trick. The soiling persists. So, I’m scheduled for an MRI pelvis dynamic this Thursday to investigate the cause of soiling.
I have an unpleasant experience with MRI dynamic before as it caused incessant vomiting then. I asked my GI whether I could take Zofran injection prior to the procedure and he accepted. My question is would I be able to endure lying on my back in a closed MRI machine during the procedure while having rectal pain (my rectum is very sore because of proctitis), having the gadolinium enema in (I was informed that they will give me an enema during the procedure) and taking an intramuscular injection immediately before the MRI starts and at the same time comply with their instructions (I have to squeeze, strain and tighten the muscle). Would I be able to do all this at the same time, esp the part of having the injection and then the enema? I already feel it’s all overwhelming but unfortunately I have no other option and I’m afraid the soiling might get worse.
