It had been about 2 years since I had a significant GI bleed. I use to get them about every 2 months, but for some reason, about 2 years ago they stopped and I had a nice run of about 2 years where I actually had normal hemoglobin and hematocrit counts.
After 20 years with crohns. I learned to rest, drink lots of water, and try not to freak out during the over 50 bleeding episodes I have had in my life.
So tonight, I am having a GI bleed, it seems like the other ones, but when I fell asleep, because of the stimulating effect of blood on the colon, I had an accident, and it was all blood.
I rushed into the shower with my pj's still on to wash off, and here is the thing...seeing that much blood soaking through my clothes and just everywhere was pretty terrifying (I have always made it to the toilet during a bleed).
I can say I am now pretty freaked out.
I am not lightheaded yet, so I do not want tonhead to the hospital, especially with the high number of covid cases in the hospital right now...so I am waiting itbout, but felt I needed some support from this community ,(advice is always welcomed as well). I have not posted here in years, but the support and feedback and advice from thisncommunity has always helped me through my roughest patches with this disease
