Severe abdominal cramps and nausea after colonoscopy. Is this normal?

Had an upper and lower endoscopy today. Throughout the 15 years of my disease, I had several endoscopies and have never had side effects after having the scope. Today, I woke up with severe abdominal cramps and nausea. I was told these will soon become better but they didn’t. So, I was given a ketrolac injection (painkiller) and an antiemetic injection. I’m now home and took my daily medication but I do still have these abdominal cramps. Tbh, they are not as severe as they were when I woke up but they are annoying.

Hopefully this will pass. Sorry to hear that it's severe enough to require pain meds. No experience with these kinds of issues. Keep us posted, hope you're feeling better soon.

Thank you so much Tom and Susie. Things started to become better yesterday. However, I still have nausea and had my first attempt to have the first bm today. It wasn’t complete. I resumed taking pentasa enema 4 g as my rectum started acting up. My intestines also hurt and there is bruising. It seems there was looping during the procedure and they applied manual pressure, which could explain why I had the abdominal pain. It is my 7th colonoscopy and I never had any issues with the previous six ones.
