New shrink is reluctant to switch me to Cymbalta due to bleeding risk and Chron’s.
I think he’s being overly cautious.
Had to recheck that SSRI’s do impact bleeding and the risk goes up with simultaneous use of NSAIDs or aspirin.
I’ve felt that the moderate dose of citalooram I’m on has lost some effect after 15 years and now that GI is suggesting IBS in addition to Chron’s, maybe the Cymbalta would hell with chronic pain as studies suggest. I know the downsides of duloxetine.
Anyone ever been warned off antidepressants by a GI due to bleeding?
If it was really an issue, I think I’d have heard about it by now.

I have not heard of anyone on here having bleeding issues with Cymbalta. I went to Drugs.com & looked up Cymbalta side effects, it states that there is a 0.1% to 1% chance of it causing stomach bleeding. I look up all medications on this particular site because they do give in-depth information about drugs. IBD patients should stay away from NSAIDS because of the high risk of causing a bleed.

Since you have been on Citalopram so long, are you on the same dosage or did your dosage get tweaked over time?

Right.
Bleeding is not really an issue and when it is, usually in the presence of NSAIDs.
The citalopram was increased at one time. AD choice is a whole nuther story…

I flared almost immediately when I tried Cymbalta many years ago. I have UC, but some of my symptoms and other issues (I got it as a smoker, smoking makes me worse, etc.) sound more like Crohn's.
