Hey to all I'm Achraf turning 27 years in this month
diagnostic with Crohn's disease in 2018 but i didn't take it seriously I was still having my life as a teenager in my age and my doctor said it was only an inflammation and it's normal to have in my age cause we not eating healthy food...but now I miss my life everything turned so bad for me I lost my job my friends everything. Now all the time alone at home thinking just about this disease and how I will have my life as normal as before...
2021 was the year that changed my life upside down , I have a small market I was working and everything was normal until that day felt so much pain in my stomach and start vomiting I called my dad so quickly and he took me to the hospital...i did alot of scan's and test until they found that I have a big inflammation located in colon with two fistula I did the first surgery called drainage to let The substance resulting from inflammation go out from my colon using a Siton thread it was so hard for me to accept everything
And with Time passed I closed my shop and stayed at home cause I can't work or do anything.... And they give me a medication called IMUREL 50MG for three in the of therd month I got a virus called zona all around my back so I did go to the hospital and passed 10 days I was in alot of pain ...they did stop the IMUREL cause my immunity was bad and after recovering
The substance resulting from the inflammation came back down from the colon I couldn't sit or sleep normally I was sleeping on my stomach so I did return to the hospital and the do the second operation for me
And now the doctor that I need to do the therd one and put a SITON fill in the colon .... I'm having alot of bad feelings and I'm alone I miss my life....i hope I can find support and advise

It sounds to me like you might unfortunately be somewhat paying the price for taking this disease too lightly. Even once treated, you may have been undermedicated. Imurel, (Aza) is a very common immunosuppresent, but may not have been enough to control your symptoms at that point.

You do sound like a candidate at this point for an anti-TNF. Remicade would be the first I would consider, and is still considered the state of the art treatment for Crohn's. Remicade has shown to be extremely effective in healing fistulae as well.

Can't really comment on the procedures you've had/having with the setons, but I'm sure others with experience will chime in.

As I mentioned to another recent poster experiencing despair. You can and will get this disease under control. It will take the right treatment plan. Stay positive and be very clear with your GI about advancing your treatment. Take a family member with you as an advocate. Keep us posted. Things WILL get better.

Good luck with your third surgery. I agree with what 73monte suggested - Remicade is one of the treatments most likely to help with fistulas. Ask your doctor if it is available and appropriate for you to try.
