Hey guys!

Anyone here have experience with Rinvoq yet? I know it’s newly approved for Crohn’s. I’m nervous about the cardiac side effects. I’m sure they’re fairly rare but wanted to see if anyone has started taking it yet. Thanks!!

I don't think we have anyone here that is on Rinvog. There are quite a few on it in the UC forum & they are very happy with their response. In your prior posts you say you have UC, has this changed? Try to keep in mind with any drug, there is always a potential for an unwanted side effects.

Has your dr prescribed this for you? What medications have you tried in the past?

I’ve been on Rinvoq for just over a year now with no problems whatsoever.
I have a history of blood clots, so I was apprehensive to go on this drug but as I understand it, the cardiac and clot warnings are for the class of drugs (Jakinhibitors) not for Rinvoq specifically. My doc says there have been no issues in large studies with Rinvoq

I was originally diagnosed with UC in when I was 13 years old back in 2003. It was changed to Crohn’s disease when I developed fistulas, so I officially have Crohn’s disease.

Thanks for your responses. It seems to be safer but I just wanted some input. I’ll ask in the UC forum. My doctor prescribed it after stelara stopped working after a few years and had no response to Skyrizi.

I started Rinvoq 2 days ago. It’s just the loading dose and I’m still testing waters with possible side effects especially constipation and dizziness. I also sleep a lot with this medicine. I read that I need some more time until my body adapts to Rinvoq. Hope that by the end of the loading dose things would get better. I failed both Remicade and Stelara and started Rinvoq in 9 months. Praying that it would kick in soon and put my relapsing Crohn’s under control. I’m still on Entocort (6mg) and take all antispasmodics out there.
