Pus in Stool? GROSS!

I know, I'm gross.

 

So the Lotronex seems to be working for the IBS-d as I'm having solid bowel movements now!!! And less than 5 a day!!!

 

(Way better than 25 watery ones daily!)

 

But, I am seeing large patches of pus on my stool. Could that be an infection or irratation? I've also had a little blood, but I think that's from internal hemis as my rectum has been a little painful...put in a call to the GI.

 

And I was just starting to feel good!!

Could it be mucus? I know I've had that and it's from a build up on the intestinal lining. It meams there irritation and inflammation in there. (duh) Maybe what you're describing is mucus and not pus.

Thanks, but I'm pretty sure it's pus. It happened a few weeks ago with mucous as well, but this time it's large patches of white pus. And I've got something that's bleeding on my bottem.

I to get alot of white looking pus and there was a dispute between my old GI and I.I was telling him that I had alot of pus in my stool and he told me that it was mucuse and I asked him how he could be so sure when he was only going by what I had said.Well as gross as this may seem I took a container and when I had a boel movement I used the container and I took it strait to him and he looked at me and said it is Muscus and that mucus can make one think that it is pus.So with that being said my old GI expalined that every one has mucus and that uit is part of our system that lines our intestions so that the wast can pass through the system.In heathy people the mucus goes back in the system and with people like us it comes out instead of going back into our system.I truley hope that I am making some since of this so if I confused you are any one else her I am sorry.But this is what I was told and I did research and he was right.
