:-)  Well my second infusion went much better.  The first I was very flu like afterwards and it burned going in.  They gave me the benedryl BEFORE not during the infusion and so far no flu like symptoms. I feel just a bit sore in the tummy but nothing compared to the first time.  I also got a B12 shot and am doing fine!  It's a miracle, I was so scared to go back.

Glad your 2nd infusion went better!

I'm not sure if you have lots of saide effects after you get the treatments, but I take benydryl for a few days after my treatments (at bedtime) to cut down on the joint pain and the sore throat and headaches. My Dr. told me to try it. It helps a little.

Hope the remi is doing it's job for you! :-)

I am glad your 2nd infusion went better. After the third one you should feel much better. I have been
doing Remicade for over 2 years and I feel almost normal.

Hi Jenn So happy things went better for you it must have releaved your mind alot.I just had my fourth with double dose and it went better then expected.I was a litle nervous but had no problems getting it done.I sure am getting a great cleaning out and stomach is not so distended .Had lots of gurggling with this one. Glad the air is coming out I feel better .Hopefully you will find them easier now and your body will adjust to the IV's. lol gail

I was also having trouble with the IV in my arm so they put it in the back of my hand, much better!

So happy the 2nd infusion went well and thank you for keeping the "new remi crew" posted. I have my 3rd infusion on 9/6 - so will keep you posted.

Again - so happy things went good and hope the next is even better!!!

Jenn, Glad it went better for you.  I have been on remi for three years, now at a double dose every 6 weeks. It saves my life, I literally function with it.  I take benedryl by I.V. too before the infusion and learned to have the I.V. in the back of my hand too.  It took a while to get my dosing right on Remicade to make it work, but when I did, it was such relief.  I now know a week before, because I start feeling crummy.  I also take Methotrexate by injection once a week.  Best wishes, Janice

Hi Jenn I always get mine in the hand I usually stock up on a little water before I go get it and get them to give me a warm blanket first sometimes they tap on my viens first which helped.I get the steriods before mine. I was very surprised that double dose was just as easy for me .Let us know how you feel it can take a bit for your GI to work out when and how much you need hopefully this dose will do it's magic on you .lol gail

Cool! I get my 3rd infusion on sept 13. I was not seeing ANY results until today actually where I haven't had any diarrhea whatsoever the first time in 7 years (except for when I'm on high doses of prednisone). So maybe it is actually starting to work!

The hand veins always hurt less for me too!
