Crohns & Imitrex Users....

I have begun having cluster migraines.  I don't particularly like the warning lable on this drug even though I don't have any heart problems.  Can't take NSAIDs of course, can't tolerate straight Tylenol either.  The only thing that works for me is Percocet (which has Tylenol in it)!?  I have had hormonal migraines for the last ten years which start one day before my period and last 3-4 days into that lovely week.  I also have the occasional sinus migraine. 

Within the last three months (no new drug changes) I started having the cluster migraines at 5:00 in the evening.  You could set your watch by it.  The imuran I'm on I take at night because it gives me headaches too.  I thought the "new" cluster headaches maybe had to do with dosage times of the other drugs I take but the Dr. thinks not.

What is your experience with the Imitrex and your Crohns or any other side effects you may have with the Imitrex?  Having a lovely migraine tonight, but I grabbed my trusty Percocet after reading the Imitrex package insert.

As you will note from my other post tonight, I'm also having gallbladder problems and I'm in no mood to be up puking all night from a migraine either!

I can have trouble with migraines too. Seem to run in my family. I had an "almost" migraine for 4 days a few weeks ago (you guessed it hormonal). I normally skip my periods now with BCP, which HELPS. But I let myself have one this month, and of course the migraine wanted to join in.

I take Toprol XL, which is a blood pressure medication to help with my migraines. I was getting at least once a month before starting it, and it was great. Took them away! But I still will get one here and there. I had one in August that lasted 3 days. I really thought about going in and talking about Imitrex. I have read about the side effects (not with Crohn's but in general). They scare me to death! So it is good to hear others don't have side effects and that it works so well for them.
