forthcoming visit to GI

I have an appointment to see my GI in one week, and would like your help as to what to ask him.  I'm currently on 9mg Entocort, and 6 pills of Salofalk.  I'm doing OK in general, but I still have my bad D days.  I think that Entocort has not been my miracle drug (I've been on it for 2 months).  I know I have a stricture in my TI, but last time I saw him he told me that surgery was out of the question at least for now, and to tell you the truth I don't feel that sick, although there are 1-2 days every week when I feel nausea, having a little D etc.

I will have blood tests on Monday, because he wants to see them, and my question is should I tell him to give me more "heavy" drugs? Or since life is OK right now, I should just stick with the current ones?  Oh! I forgot, 4 months ago my blood tests were excellent, but I was still experiencing symptoms.  He told me since blood tests are OK, there is no serious inflammation active.  It could be IBS.  Go figure....

Hi Christina Not sure what you should do has your Dr. mentioned the bigger meds? I know IBS is no fun I had it for 27 years .I am glad your blood work is doing good .The Entocort might be working and improve things for you as you take it longer but I don't know if it will. Hope you get things worked out with your GI .I seen mine yesterday and we are still weaning me from pred. I have to go slow. I take the bigger drugs and even with them I have a little D at times just glad things are passing threw and I have no pain now. How are you doing diet wise do you follow any diet?Beat Wishes lol gail

Christina it could very well be just your diet causing your one to two day illness. For the most part my gut is okay, but if I eat the wrong thing then I pay for it the next day. I really think you should start a food diary and see which foods upset you and try to avoid them. I really do think your problem is strictly your diet and not really disease related. Good Luck!
