Strictures and surgery

I had a enteroclysis test yesterday on my small intestine. The results show 3 strictures and 2 loops. My GI recommends surgery to remove the strictures. I have an appointment with a colon and rectal surgeon on Friday.

I have a question about the surgery itself. Does anyone know if they usually perform Laparoscopic Surgery nowadays or does that depend on the surgeon or the situation?

I just had surgery two weeks ago, it could not be done lapro. I was hoping, but the surgeon said it is still much more common to cut you open, because they usually aren't completely sure how much and how bad the damage is. I have a pretty ugly scar now, but the good news is I recovered fairly quickly. Good luck!
