Hi all,

I have continued my daily meds as I have been taking them prior to my fistula. I was wondering if my metamucil capsules can be causing additional pain do to the fistula? They have never given me problems before but wonder if they could be hurting rather than helping the situation

How long have you been taking the metamucil for?

It's probably a good idea to discuss this with your GI.

I have been taking it since Oct of 06. That was before my surgeries, My surgeon and GI both agreed I should be on it post op to bulk it up....this was before the development of my fistula though. I take 2 capsules a day and before surgeries I was taking 5 a day and miralax

hmm, maybe cut back to one/day, but I'd still talk to the GI because of the recent development of the fistula.
