CAT Scan Enterography - contrast medium has sorbitol

I am scheduled Thurs for my first cat scan enterography.  The tech said I have to drink 4 containers of 16 ozs of contrast over one hour (64 oz).  I asked him to see if it contained sorbitol and it does.  I know when I have products with sorbitol they really bother my stomach and cause diarrhea.  Well I already have diarrhea.  My GI doc said the only alternative is citracel.  If I drink that much citracel then I am going to get all backed up and sick too.  What other options are there.  I do fine with the contrast milky liquid for a regular CAT scan but they can't use that.  Has anyone else had any problems with this?

I have had this done and it produced the opposite effect. I stopped going to the bathroom and felt full and bloated for a day. It was well worth the minor misery. They got great images
