Someone at work (who also has Crohn's) gave me a month's supply of Align. She hasnt started it yet herself so I can ask her:
Has anyone been taking this? How does it work for you?

My doctor gave me a month's supply of them. He said it wouldn't hurt and might help for my stinky gas. Never had the problem before my resection but it's been awful since. He said it is probably from bacteria in my colon. They have made a difference. Not totally relieved from the issue but it is quite a bit better.

My Doctor has given me quite a few months of Align and I have probably been taking it everyday now for about
6 or 7 months. I am not sure how much it has helped, I have not noticed a whole new feeling, but continue to take it because it doesn't hurt and probiotics sometimes take a while to be noticed. Good luck with it!

Thanks Paris.
Prior to this were you prone to mini flares before remicade? If so, are they still the same?

OK, first 3 days were gassy (as stated on package), but luckily my farts barely smelled.
The only thing I've noticed so far is that my poop now has texture and smell of infant poop. You know the texture where you NEED to use wet wipes because it doesnt wipe off it just smears. LOL
Other than that, no big changes that I've noticed. I did have a cup of decaf after my one small coffee this morning, and that usually makes me go that bathroom. Dont know if its the Align or the luck of the draw.
I think I'll know more towards the end of this month, when my Remicade starts to wear off. My next dose is scheduled for 10/31/07.
