My Fistula

 I have been diagnosed with a fistula between the bladder or urethra to the bowel.  My urine has a very high bacteris count thus creating a mustard like odor.  I have been wrestling with this problem for over a year.  My Dr at the Univ Of Penna has said that he cannot find it and to let it go for another 6 months..  At this point I have urine coming out of my rectum and feces seeping out of my penis.  AM not a verry happy camper to say the least.  I have had cat scans, mri, bariom enemas, charcoal testing and x rays galore.  Nothing seems to show up.  Any suggestions out there?  Would appreciate any feed back you may have.

Welcome to HW...being a woman, I can't totally relate to your problem, but I do sympathize. I have had one fistula in a much simpler place and apparently they just found another in my colonoscopy yesterday.

CMom2 proposed the best question...are you on any meds? With fistulizing CD, meds seem to be the only real long term solution. I had a seton for mine because it was mostly external, but they will keep coming without meds. My GI has said that imuran can help in the healing of fistulas, without going to the remicade/humira. Are you trying any of these?
