Hi, I have been diagnosed with Crohn's for about
3 years and am currently in a flare-up (or so my doctor thinks). Anyways, I had a SBFT today and it took less than an hour from the time I swallowed the barium for me to start expelling it. Normally it takes 2-3 hours for me to be done with the test, not 40 minutes. The radiologist said things looked good but he'll compare them to my old test. If things look good, why did the barium speed through my intestinal tract? Is it possible that since I've been on prednisone that the test won't show signs of inflammation because if I'm not in a flare-up, I don't know what is wrong with me.
Thank you.
