Here is a link that says different regarding probiotics and IBD, they did a study with UCers exclusively and the majority while flaring went into remission because of VSL3, the most expensive probiotic out there, with the rest of the group noting at least some improvements...

And yes there are very affective probiotics that are well priced...I use Primadophilus Reuteri made by natures way, a 90 cap bottle lasts me 90 days because only one/day is needed, and it costs me under 30.00 cdn. It has guaranteed intestinal release, aids with high cholesterol, lactose intolerance and vaginal health as well. BUT, it must be kept in the fridge at all times.
