I was wondering how your tests went today? Do you still have the mid abdomen pain? Mine seems to be getting worse.....

Hey Vicky,

I just got home, it took about 3 hours, not counting driving (which is about 45 minutes), a long day. My abdominal pain lessened enough that I could only feel it if I poked and prodded. I started taking the 6MP again last week though, and the pain seems like it's returning. Who knows. If it gets worse I'll call my doctor, it could be a coincidence my blood tests came back fine.

I'm actually more uncomfortable since I got home, but it shouldn't have done anything. I drank 1/2 bottle of prep for the CT scan (usually they make people drink 3 bottles) so I can't imagine it's making my abdomen hurt, it wasn't even barium.

I'm sorry your pain is worse. When are your tests? What exactly are they looking for, do you know? For me they were looking for possible abscess/fistula, kidney stones, liver disease.

Hi Judy, I'm sorry you're feeling uncomfortable, hopefully it is the prep that's playing up

My test is a MRCP, it's to test for pancreatic function. He seems to think I have chronic pancreatitis. I've had two acute attacks
after taking 6mp, and it may have left scaring, causing the pancreas to malfunction. I've done a little reading on it, and I do suffer
with some of the symptoms ie; chronic abdo pain, distention and fatty stools. He has already done bloods and about 6 stool samples.
Unfortunately, the first available appointment for the MRCP is Dec 5th.

He also told me that we may go full circle back to crohn's, after a colonoscopy. Apparently fatty stools/ diarrhea is also a symptom
of illeum problems and the malabsorption from having the illeo/cecal valve removed. He's also concerned I could have a stomach
tumor. So I have several choices, none of which I care for!! At this point I would just like to feel a little better. What does concern
me, is, the pain I'm getting now, is not like any that I've had before. I'm feeling very nauseated too. Oh well, I've waited this long
for some answers, I guess I can wait a little longer...

I hope you start feeling your old self again soon LOL.

Hi Judy, Make sure you flush your system with plenty of water to get all the barium out of your system.

I can't believe the first MRCP is in December, what are you supposed to do until then? It's the same test I had, they want to see if the pain is from the liver or pancreas. How were your blood tests, did they show it could be pancreatic? Mine didn't but he wants to test anyway, not sure what that means.

You know, if the pain gets too bad you could try going to the ER. If they admit you they may be able to get you in for your tests sooner. Just a thought. The last time I was admitted, they did x-rays, CT scan, colonoscoy, and MRI in a matter of 3 days with NO prep because I was so sick, lol, that was the best part.

The best thing about the tests I had done today was that there was no prep. At least no prep for normal people, I had to have premeds as I'm allergic to IV iodine (prednisone again, just when I thought I was starting to feel normal, lol).

Thanks for the advice. I didn't have barium, but I had some other stuff that's just as radioactive, so you're right, I should drink lots of water.

I really don't know what to do. this doc is new to me, I was referred to him by my old GI, because he's a crohns specialist. The problem
is, his clinic is a busy one. I know that if I went to see my primary, she would probably admit me into our small hospital here, close to
where I live, but I probably wouldn't get the test I need. The specialist works out of St Louis University hospital, and I really don't like the
idea of going to that ER. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and hard place.

To date I've had no results from the blood work or stool samples. I guess I have to try and hold on the best I can. I do know one thing,
if I continue to get worse I will go see my primary and get her opinion.
