Hi girls and guys. Well I got my tree picked out just waiting for me to go chopper down  whooot  that is the hard part over. Got my bows up on the step yesterday .I have 3 doves outside now at my bird feeder ,don't ask me if they are turtle doves because I don't know but they are beautiful.Started my hall almost done washing it down. go me!!! Teen got smacked in face with plastic light up bear ysterday so it was me who did all the bows work. So tell me what things you are doing looking for inspiration as we all need some . Guys I know your out there what is going on with you getting ready for Xmas ? Feel free to write peoms ,songs and good times .Gotta love us so tell us what's happening. lol gail

Im enjoying the weather getting cold, the christmas music on the radio, the people driving by with christmas trees, knowing the semester will be over soon (but thats also scary because it means finals are around the corner)... My husband and I have started making our Christmas lists and we have ordered some gifts for family. Since I do digital photography we are giving 2008 calenders w/ some of my best "work." But it was so much easier to just print them from the Kodak Gallery website so we are spending $20 for each one. Not too bad. The only downside is its nothing like Christmas to make you realize how much less money we have this year. But, I am thankful we have enough for what we need.

:-)  well despite having a dreadful weekend ive picked myself back up again partners feeling guilty as hell just the way us women like it :-) .

well i bought a white 5ft xmas tree put it up but it looks a bit anaemic as though its needing fed lol so ive now resorted back to a green xmas tree only instead of a 5ft its a 7ft ill need a stepladder to reach it im only 5 3 lol i love xmas decorating the tree with the lights on the candy canes and the whole atmosphere and my normal pharmacist whose been away for 2 months returned to work today so my metho should be in the fridge now every friday without fail shes the only responsible adult there!!!!!!!!

ill put up the decorations this weekend and begin writing my letter to santa lol yeah yeah

OK Gail you have me feeling behind !!!!! My darling husband is in charge of most of the outside decorations. He is putting them up today. They include tons of lights, a flying sleigh with reindeer, 2 large candles, a collectors item snowman and a big santa. It will take him all day, then I will go out and put the tiny pine trees in the flower boxes and say I finished it all :-)
I have half the appetizers made and frozen for our annual Christmas party. I also have the Christmas CD selection setup--but we have digital cable with an all Christmas music tv station so we might play that instead. We bought the mother in laws gift already--we;re taking her to see Trans Siberian orchestra so she better turn down her hearing aid!. Tonight we buy Dad in law a TV from the three couples. Then all we have left to buy are for the nieces and nephews
This weekend is haircut, tree buying, house decorating and final grocery shopping for the party. With pouring rain today...I hardly feel Christmasy yet but better than a few feet of snow I guess!

Enjoying my Christmas tree and all of our decorations. Something about a beautiful tree that really lifts my spirits. My hubby also did the outside decoarations this past weekend. We've got lights on the house and around our deck. A blowed up Grinch and a pretty deer that moves. I love this time of year! :)

Aww you guys have made me worse. I've been wanting to start decorating, but my husband keeps reminding me it's not even
December yet. He knows me well though if I put them up early, I'll get fed up with, and want to take them down early. Meanwhile
I'm enjoying the Christmas movies on the family channel. If only life was like the lives portrayed in these movies, we'd all be
walking around with a stupid grin on our faces.Awww.

We are going to decorate this weekend,my husband and kids LOVE those blowups!!! He even bought Santa in a airplane for my roof,AGGHHH!!!  Anyhoo,I do love the holidays. yeah

Just bought the good ol christmas cards to start sending out.  Went to downtown Seattle on Sat and just stared at the big christmas tree and took pix.  It was soo beautiful and the ornaments were HUGE!  Also I went to this courtyard by the tree and stared at the lil ones on the carosel.  I never go down there at this time of year and figured it would be a nice relaxing thing to do before it gets too crazy and crowded....  =0)  I'm glad I did it.

gail....  3 doves visiting your casa sound pretty cool....

I love this thread and yes this time of year

Although I am mising Mom terribly and dad is sliding fast I am still determined to have a great christmas..........

Got all my decorations up all over the place all in balance ( OCD) lol.............
Stockings hung have been buying presents since a few months ago.........
GOT Cait a Beautiful and very expensive Mountain bike that was regularly $299.00 for $ 50 dollars from the walmart here.....NOW that one is hard to hide ....... tongue

Made alot of homemade gifts as well
And baked goodies ( burnt alot too lol

Listening to the music and I cannot wait for Tree to go up on Saturday it is the best time for Cait and I to share and just yak ya know

YES I am glad to be alive as well and nope your not going bonkers walk around humming all the Christmas tunes

OMG.........Its less than a month before Santa comes ..........

Hi Yes the doves are nice they are feeding again now ,I have a dish for them at the bottom of my step and the boughs are not getting blowed way yet. Loving hearing from you all I have lots of beautiful visions of the things you are doing and seeing. Loving the blow up decorations they are pretty there is a house around here that has them. The chickadees didn't know quite what to think of the decorations I would like to get some bells for them and some suet .Loving the songs your sending out and it is like a Xmas card reading all the things you all have said .Keep them coming it is very inspirational .Some of you have your trees up wow ! Mine is still standing in the forest but I think of it some times and at least I know where it is. lol gail

P.S. I just looked at the doves now there are 7 .They are brown gee I keep talking on here and I could end up with a pile of them .lol gail

gachrons- be careful w/ the suet bells if you have dogs. Mine at a suet bell and was pooping bird seed all over the house for 2 days. Ewwww.

I'm part of a Christmas card exchange on another forum.  I bought very "Texas" cards last week, since a lot of them are going out of the country.  Now I just need to address and mail them.  And I'm working my way through a handful of knitted Christmas presents.  One more scarf and two more purses and I'll be done.  At some point, probably the weekend before I fly up to my parents' house for the holiday, some channel will play "A Very Brady Christmas" and I'll knit furiously through the whole cheesy thing.  Then my Christmas will be complete!
