Went to the doctor yesterday because my blood pressure has been high again. I take Toprol 25 mg for it. Just wasn't doing the job, so he raised my dose. Well my doctor asks me if I've been dieting since I saw him last. I said no. He says "Well you've lost 20 pounds in the past year. Which is fine if there is nothing wrong, but can be a sign of diabetes." I asked if it could be related to Crohn's, he said yeah if you've been flaring. I've actually had a pretty good year with my Crohn's. He asked me other questions, like if I'm thirsty a lot, or urinate more then usual. I do seem to urinate quite a bit, but I always thought that was from having a BIG baby 9 years ago! I've been told my bladder isn't exactly in the same place pre-baby! ;)
So he took a blood test, and I'll find out soon hopefuly. Diabetes runs in my family, and the thought scares me. That's the last thing I need! How many serious chronic illnesses can one person handle. :(
