Hi, I don't have chronic pancreatitis YES!!! I have a duct that's not working properly.
The specialist has called out a rx of Entocort, I've just taken the first 9mg's. He will be seeing me on Tuesday to discuss
my treatment plan thoroughly. He's a little dubious that the entocort maybe too little too late, and surgery may still be
in the plan. Followed up with Entocort for maintenance. I cant have any other meds because of my allergies!!
The other issue to be discussed, is the abnormally high amounts of fat in my stool. Now we know it's not due to pancreatitis,
it's more likely to be short bowel syndrome. I'm curious to know how they are gonna get the nutrients & vitamins into me.
I know my malabsorption is bad, so if they can half way rectify this, I might start to feel more human.
Lastly, biopsies are clear for cancer. Thank goodness.
Thanks for all your love & support, although I still feel pretty ill right now, I'm resting a little easier, knowing I dont have
another lifelong condition.....

I'm so happy for you. It must be a big relief for you. Now you can get down to the business of treating you. Did your doctor say why the duct isn't working properly?
As far as the malabsorption, I know there are a lot of people here taking something for that, is it Questran? As far as medications, does that still rule out the immunosuppressants?

Thanks guys, it has been a huge weight lifted of my shoulders.
Judy, I only spoke to the doctors nurse, so I don't know the ins & outs of things. As far as immunosuppressants, the doctor
told me at my first visit, that they would be a no go area. I'm not really sorry about
that. I truly don't want to get very sick
again. I will look into Questran, it does ring a bell with me. I think it was one of those things I was given, and then ended
up having surgery, so it got forgot, you know how that goes.
My first dose of entocort, has given me a rapid pulse 130. I spoke to the pharmacist, she told me to keep an eye on it, but
it should subside, also feeling a bit floaty.....

Broom, thanks. I don't know why you think I'm strong, but right now I'm fluffing my feathers a little, and pushing out my chest.
Gee girl I hope I've been strong and not a whine a*** ((hugs))

Hey Dunny, I think you are my twin. I also have a blockage in my common bile duct (it is dilated) and my GI couldn't get in to inspect it with the ERCP. Said he couldn't find the
opening. Probably scarring from the crohn's/meds. I am consulting with another GI that he has recommended here in town, more of a liver specialist, I see him on the 13th. I am not in pain right now or turning yellow yet so I guess there is no emergency. Is it your pancreatic duct that is dilated, or the common duct? Anyway, glad you got good news. Keep us informed esp what he is going to do about
the duct situation.
