hey i think this might be working!  well as you may remember my last fever episode 1 month ago with the blood cultures etc... and then the rip to the drs in seattle. well any how, they wanted me to take some prednisone the next time i had one. well this past saturday exactly 4 weeks since the last one, guess what? yep. so i popped my first 40mgs as soon as i felt the chills coming on. still got to a little over 102, but not 104! and it seemed to not be as debilitating. it definately did not last as long as the last few times. i will finish up the prednisone tomorrow night. just 4 days for a quick boost. so here hoping for the future. and that this wasn't a fluke.   yeah

wierd. I hope it DOES work and you don't have to go through the 104 temp thing again. Good luck!

Hmmmm, wish they could find out why this is happening..But look at the bright side,,your still HOT,,it just shows when it wants to......

Yes sure do remember and hoping this is going to work for you Glad your on a short course of the pred. it has become a habit for me ha ha .Best Wishes. lol gail

sniper, i know im HOT, but i hate going to hardware stores etc... every time we go in those places and we go down certain isles, all the STUD sensors go off! you must have this same problem, how do you deal with it?

hey, rando, i got it!!! ya know those portable air conditioners that the astronauts used to carry around all the time when they were suited up? i bet a bunch of those suits and a/c suitcases are out there on some kind of govt surplus auction somewhere. wouldn't that be cool? (so to speak) pred is scary, and i'm sure i don't have to tell you that. horror stories abound.

i ain't goin' there, after the exchange you had earlier in this thread. when you flew up to washington last year, did you have a layover at the minneapolis airport?

Glad the pred worked! I too hope it is not a fluke. I just had the flu and got a 103 temp and I was so out of it. I cannot imaging having that often! Randy and Sniper you 2 are so funny! Cheers me up to read your posts. Karen

not to far fetched sniper! one of them space suits was auctioned off not too long ago and went for like a million bucks! was worn by buzz aldrin if i recall correctly.

Well, I'm sorry it takes pred to handle these darn fevers, Randy, but sure am glad it looks like a short burst of pred will do the trick. Prayers are continuing for you.
