eyes  Some of you are aware of my plight of continuous breakthrogh vaginal bleeding over the last several months.  Went to the OB/GYN and yet another battery of tests.  I need to remove the female plumbing but the GI says..."no way".  The only way she would recommend it is if they were to find cancer.  Now, because of the class of drugs I'm on and the already elevated cancer risk, they do not want to give me HRT.  My only option is natural hormone replacement therapy.  Hope the heck it works.  If not, I get to suffer through until menopause.  Hisssssssssssss!  I should have just flew into the tree when I had the chance!

Why does your GI say no? Will having surgery exacerbate the Crohn's? i'm so sory you are going through this!

Hi Broomhilda the tree won't do you much good I just got my year in without any hormone replacement so now a graduate . No breakthrew bleeding but the night sweats drove me crazy. Two years of them and not too much letting up although I did have short periods when it did. I did not have many hot flashes.Hope the natural works for you. So how long have you been peri mena. ? Well it might be for a few years thwen we can start the crazy club. Really hope you don't have too bad a time of it though. That breakthrew bleeding can be a pain bad enough going for a few days. Keep in touch and let us know how things are going. Got my tree up and decorated I am always glad when it is tied to the wall and in the water pan. More shovelling snow today 4 storms already and more on the way. Do you get much snow? lol gail

gumby-yeah she's afraid it will cause me fistulas. My CD has never been in remission and is still being very aggressive no matter what therapy I've been on. Humira seems to at least give me some reprieve for the time being.

Glad to hear you've graduated! It's been about 3 years on the peri. On again/off again bleeds for about the last 6 months. I'm sure the predinsone has something to do with the hormonal imbalance too. It's such an annoyance on top of everything else! Got my tree up too. Went with a fake one last year for the first time. I miss the real one (not the cost). Whatever. No, I'm on the southern east coast of NC so we don't see a whole lot of snow. Last good snowfall we had was in '89. Two inches or more sends my town into a frenzy cause nobody knows how to drive in it. Myself, however, wouldn't miss the chance to go 4 wheeling on the back roads! Kinda wish we would get a nice snowstorm but I'm sure you've had enough of it already! How's your lungs comin' along? Has everything settled down some?

It was after my last surgery this past February that I flared which led to a diagnosis. In December I was telling my NP I wasn't ready to go down the GI road again (after several futile attempts at diagnosis) By the end of February I was asking for a referral. Yet, after my first laparoscopy many years ago (which I had done because of the RLQ pain problem I developed) I actually improved. The RLQ pain went away for 3 months. So it seems that surgery/anesthesia can have a positive effect or a negative effect. The surgery I had in January didn't even enter my gut area (I had a cyst removed)

Oh what a dilemma! I had a complete hysterectomy about 12-14 years ago and to tell you the truth it was the best thing I ever did. I was so miserable 3 weeks out of every month. Too bad you can't go that way. I love that I take my little blue pill everynight and no hot flashes, no nothing. Sure hope your hormones are gentle on you. Good luck!
