this is going to sound ridiculous and it is just a little short term fix. But as I was dozing off on the couch instead of doing homework my hubby made me stand up and jump up and down. Once the blood started flowing again I felt so much more awake. I guess as we get tired our heart rate and blood pressure drop. If you can do something to make it go back up you feel more awake. So maybe at recess do something silly with your kids like jump rope or hop scotch. Nothing that will hurt your stomach but enough to make your blood flow. I was doing hand stands, stretches, and push ups last night to stay awake to study. Sucks that we can't do caffeine.
