I was wondering if anyone here has ever had Crohn's in their throat? And if so does it hurt? Can it also NOT hurt but feel like something is "there"?
Thanks a bunch!

I believe that I have Crohns in my throat just before my initial diagnosis, but it was never confirmed by a doctor, so I don't know for sure. I had great big infected ulcerated tonsils and a high fever. The strep and mono tests were negative, but my primary care doc put me on three different rounds of antibiotics, which resulted in severe diarrhea, and my eventual Crohn's diagnosis. I plan never to take antibiotics again unless I have a confirmed bacterial infection. I really believe that the antibiotics made everything worse! What are your symptoms?

I have CD in my esophagus, so I would think that having it in your throat would also be quite possible since CD can start in your mouth right down to the other end. When I had a flare , it was impossible to swallow without excrutiating pain. ...not even my own saliva. I tried liquid antacids by the cup full just to be able to swallow a bit of water.
Don't let it go too long...and follow your gut feeling. If it doesn't feel normal then there is probably something wrong.
Good luck.Hope its not CD.

I also have been dx with CD in my esophagus. But, I also suspect it is the casue of the sores & blisters on the back of my mouth and throat -- never been confirmed though. Can you make and appt with an Ear Nose & Throat doc? They can scope you right in the office. Definitely mention this to your primary and/or your gastro. They might want to do an EDG just to check out the esophagus. Let us know what you find out.

If you are having troubles swallowing I would suggest you get your Thyroid checked. I was Hyperthryoid at one time and at its worst I would choke on my food sometimes because the Thyroid had swollen and was blocking the passage of my food some.
