My 6 year old had a sweat test done and it read 41 and today 2-18-2009 she had a sweat test done and the result was 60. I have had a nurse tell me that is positive and I have had someone tell me it is high borderline.
Can anyone tell me is 60 positive or high end borderline?

I had a 8 year old who tested 42 on a sweat test.

<40 is negative
40-60 is a borderline/grey area
>60 is positive.

I think you can have a false negative, but not a false positive. However 60 is sort of rocking on the edge still. I think your children may need genetic testing to get definate results.

I have had my son at Children's Hospital in St. Louis for testing. He has a sweat test at 55 and the 2nd one was 62. They told me that the results were both borderline. Their levels are

<40 Negative

>80 Positive

41-79 Borderline

We are now waiting on the genetic tests to come back.
