Hey everyone!  I logged on to get some support from other CF adults...which seem to be hard to find.  I've lived and incredibly healthy life (I can answer all your questions).  I've never had lung problems only intestional probs.  I just got out of the hospital for the 1st and ONLY time.  i had what is called an incecession.  This is when the lower intestines is pulled (usually by a polup or growth) into the large intestine causing a blockage.  They were simply going to take a piece of both intestines out and sew me up, but found a benign tumor (the cause of the problem) and and enlarged  appendix.  THEY REMOVED ALL OF THE above......2 ft of my intestines, tumor and apendix.  In the hospital i wasn't fed fdor 2 weeks and lost....12 lbs....i got out two weeks ago and have lost an extra 8 or so.  I've always been healthy, muscular and perfect weight....5'4' 120lbs.  Now Im a toothpick and having to face what other CF patients always face....appetite.  I'm scared to eat...an loosing more weight.  Sorry for the lengthy note...but I'm hoping someone knows what I'm going through.....or has an idea on how to help.  In any case I'm here for anyone who needs me also.

I have CF, dont come on here much though so most dont know me. I am 21 live in uk and am supposed to be on an arms length of drugs and am always told about eating blah blah... I am that rake u talk of I am approx 100lbs at 5'6 and I bike ride 15 miles a day upto 40 miles a week at present. and yeah i'm ****in scary to look at.. hell I even got a dbl sized nose leaning to 1 side where it was broke as a kid!.. I only take enzymes and inhalers!

if YOU stay strong in your mind and HEART you will beat it and get where u want to be  :-)

I hope you are recovering well :-)

I am 5'2 113 lbs and I eat like a piggy, yet hardly gain over 115 lbs.

May I ask why you are afraid to eat? Is it because you think that you will just keep gaining?

I say work on foods that are for the most part healthy (proteins, and such) with the occasional super yummies until you are at the weight you once were at, and then regulate your diet with foods that once you have eaten you meal you feel full. There are some meals out there that after a half hour you are hungry again, avoid those for the most part, and stick with filling foods. My favorite dish: Honey ham, mashed potatoes, and peas. It will fill you up and it is yummy :-)

hell there... names olivia 18 with cf ...was just diagnosed at 12.... i was 130 and about 5'5 maybe 5'4 and i was a chunky kid when iw as 12... and right before i went into the hospital and what not before i became sick and they diagnosed me with cf... i went down to 87 pounds....i really am a lil bit lost on why you are afraid to eat? is it bc your stomache bothers you? well aabout 2 yrs ago i was throwin up every morning and i couldnt go to school...so after a yr of testing they found out that i had pranceatiatus? i have no clue how to spell this stuff....and i take enzyems now.. and i am now 5'7 and weigh 156 pounds...and i work out everyday and feel great! i still tho love my chocolate and all my junk food... i really am not one of those girls who care about how fat they are or what not.... i just want to stay healthy and never look like a skeleaton again.... i got made fun of at school all the time for it. people thought i had a eating problem! sorry for rambling and dont really knwo if this helps... but im a lil confused on what your asking about!
