I've just found this bit of info out, I'm yet too see how useful it will be.
If you have a Profile ADD Ineb, then there is now a new type of chamber and mouthpiece available especially for Tobi. It means however that you have to do 2-3 runs with it, to neb all 5ml of Tobi. But, that's only 6-9 minutes work if you breathe the right way, better than the 20-30 mins with a Pari Turboboy.
When first brought out, Ineb could only nebulise Promixin - a brand name of Colomycin. Now it can neb DNase (AKA, dornase alfa/ Pulmozyme) Saline and now Tobi too. Putting it on a more level line with a Pari eflow machine. Which is good, as across the UK Ineb is generally free, but eflow are hard to get hard of and more expensive, and not as portable.
I have a feeling it's going to get rid of the trouble I had using a Pari Turboboy neb, where I can't breathe the med in properly and end up completely losing my voice until I stop using it. I'm just waiting for confirmation from my team that this is going to be possible for me to do, and that I'm still ok taking Tobi, because I haven't had it on prescription since last December.
I'll let you know how it goes-this is a major breakthrough in my eyes. I'm allergic too Colomycin, and not being able too nebulise anything right now, means that I've been getting ill again not long after a course of IV's, but having to put up with it for months, as my team will only allow IV's every 4 months at the minute. I really hope this works!
