<FONT color=black>self-esteem lies in the standards with which we measure ourselves as we go through life. To thrive with chronic illness, throw out the old and rethink your standards. Know that you are an awesome person that has a chronic illness but do not think less of yourself because of your CF.
Learn to set achievable goals and not over stress yourself and accept that you are still one wonderful, and productive person. This is where a lot of courage is needed. Courage to address old pressures to be a certain way and to imagine value in doing things differently. You will be OK, I promise.
It’s imperative for your spirit that you have goals for living, big and small.
What might change with the reality of chronic illness is the path and timing. You will reach great goals and be proud of each and every one of them.
If you need a therapist to help you through the rough times, please give yourself permission to see one. I have one and she is really good about
helping me stay on track.
Stay in the moment for that is all we truly have. Do not worry about
tommorow for it will take care of itself and yesterday is gone, so live for today, for this moment.
Welcome to our family here in HealingWell.
