Definitely definitely get it checked out ASAP.
Post transplant, your son will be on anti-rejection drugs I'm guessing, which lower the immune system right down to nothing. Even a virus can be quite bad. Rejection is also a slight possibility if the anti-rejection drugs aren't quite effective enough.
I don't wish to worry you, but the first year after transplant, you have to be on alert that this is when things are most likely to screw up.
Hope you manage to get seen by someone, it's going to be difficult over the holidays, however usually consultants are on call over the holidays, and you may be able to reach them by phoning the main hospital reception.
