I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns about my lobectomy. I had my a large portion of my Right upper lobe removed on Feb. 7, and was in ICU for 3 days, just for observation, and the surgery was a complete success. (I was in the hospital for a total of 7 days after the surgery) The lab sent us pics of the lobe and it looks TERRIBLE!! there are several granuloma thingys (little white things in my lungs) along with thick sticky mucus, and my CF specialist said that it was not possible to "Fix" it with medicine. The surgeon said that he had to actually cut it off of the pleural lining of my chest cavity, meaning it was growing ONTO my ribcage! There were a few sleepless nights, which i cant sleep in the hospital anyway, let alone with 2 chest tubes coming out of my chest, but overall easier than my whole sinus ordeal (you can read about that on another post). I now have my appetite back, and i feel much better, except for the torn muscle that he had to go through, which is still healing. Thank you SO MUCH again for your prayers, and the emails. Lauren K
