Hey kitt as you know i`ve been around for a while but just want to welcome any one who has just found this forum .This has been a gods send for me .The members are so caring and make you all feel welcome no matter how big or small your problem may seem .For me it`s the ONLY family i have that gives a darn .
Hope you find the answers and support you are all looking for .

I have a previous post but felt I'd introduce myself here.

For this forum I'd like to be known as Rabbit, I love rabbits (even have tattoo's of them lol), I live with Mum but will soon be going to University. I can't wait, a chance to truely feel independent. I feel I am naturally independent but I strive for a circle of friends. I finished college with a pre-degree in Art & Design. I love art as well, loved it since I was 5 or so. I have a clear cut goal which helps me feel better and keeps me motivated in some parts. In my last year of college I studied Graphic Design and have done really well. Got into a University that had a 1 in 4 chance of getting in (best day of my life). I usually love life, that's why I hate it at the moment, I hope that come September I'll be right as rain again, I hope.

So I've done my bit, hello everyone, I can see this site is really good and I am glad I've come here for some insight.

Morning Rabbit ,Wow you have done a great job already you have a great talent and it will take you a lot of wonderful places .That would of been a great feeling to achieve uni entrance .
Being independant has it problems so don`t be put off by them .I left home at fifteen and life was hard but thats ok i was determined to make it and i did .
They way you are feeling at the moment will pass with time and help .
This is a great place to be in with lots of caring people who themselves have all gone through or are currently going through some type of problem themselves .

Figured I'd give this a whirl.

My name is Staveandor, or you can call me Stave, or Allen. I'm 21 years old, and I'm a huge nerd.

I came to Healingwell when my ex broke up with me a little over 3 months ago. I'm still suffering from depression, but this community has been nothing but supportive toward me, no matter how dark I am.

I've been posting my thoughts and feelings in a few threads on these boards, and am seeking any real direction atm. Feel free to PM me on this board with any questions or comments you may have. I check this board several times a day, though I rarely post.

HI everybody. I am not sure if I am in the right forum but I need some advice. It is not me who is depressed, its the woman I love who is. I stumbled upon this site in hopes on finding some insight as to what I can do to help. The relationship I am in has been very taxing and I am hoping to talk to others who are in the same situation as me. I dont want to give up on this woman and I will not turn my back on her, but I believe I need some tools to better help myself understand her. I know and I am very aware that I cannot fix my girlfriends condition, but I want to become stronger in helping her know that her depression cannot affect me ( although in some ways it has affected our relationship) I love her with all my heart, its just very difficult dealing with the strain at times. I want to better educate myself and work on myself more so that the depression no longer hurts me. I dont know....maybe I am just rambling, but any help or suggestions would help me greatly.

Hi all,

Im Kate and have been a member of Healingwell for a while, just havent been around for a few months. I live in Western Australia right on the coast and I turned 30 this year arrghgh! No husband and no children....I cant keep potplants alive so I dont think I am responsible enough for children at the moment! I love my music and perform regularly....I think it keeps me sane more than anything!

I joined this site after having depression for 12 years and being on Effexor XR for ten of those. I have been med free for just over three years now. This forum has been invaluable to me and I think it has helped my healing alot being able to share my experiences with other people.

Hi everyone.. I am 27 years old female .. I found this site through google..I lost my grandparents 6 years ago who i was really close with and i have felt like my whole world has fallen apart since then..I live in Canada so it is hard to get a doctor and i havent been treated for depression but i have done and spoken to friend who have and they say i have signs but i am scared to get on the meds. I am quite and shy person or as some ppl say i am a loner . I was always put down by my siblings and teased.My parents never have told me they love me and hugged me . I still live at home and never finished school and work a min.paying job..Somedays are good and some are bad.I am hoping to find some good friends here who can help me when i need a year to talk too as none of my friends understand and just tell me its all in my head..

It is great to have you all on the forum. I think that you all will find that you have come to a wonderful place. The other members are so very kind and considerate here. They are easy to talk to. Nobody judges you for anything.

My husband recommended this site, and I've posted just a few times on various topics.

 

I'm 53, and quit my teaching job last year due to health issues. I miss the everyday interactions with my students, and with my colleagues so much, and since they work, and have their own busy lives,  I don't have much contact with them anymore (other than a get together every few months or so). 

 

 I do try to structure my day, but it's just generally very lonely, and being alone in my head isn't always the healthiest thing.

 

So I am so thankful that this site exists.

Thank you for sharing and please know you are not alone.  I had the very same thing happen and I am still lost.  I retired early due to health issues and my whole life was my work as my children are all grown.

I cried for months at the loss of my career and my peers.  It was like I had died and they moved on.  So know you are in the same boat as I am.........welcome aboard.  This site has been good for me, I hope it meets some of you needs too.

Hey everyone! I just found this thread, I found this on google too, and I'm so glad!

I'm 22, a struggling student in school due to terrible anxiety/depression. I was raised in a family where my father was depressed since I can remember, my sister has some forms of dementia/depression and other things on top of it. I had to grow up with her and then deal with my father ignoring me/yelling etc. My uncle committed suicide due to depression and I am determined not to be that way.
I live with my amazing boyfriend who suffers from Attention deficit Disorder (which can cause conflict unintentionally),
I went to see a doctor after hitting rock bottom after a car accident affected every aspect of my life, my back was terrible for months and I could not keep a job or couldn't get hired due to my physio therapy etc.. the doctor said I was depressed and I argued it. well, here I am feeling better on medication but still struggling with the next few steps.

hello to everyone!

Kitt, how long have you been in this boat? What do you do to keep yourself sane? Some days it's so so hard. Right now, there's already ads in the papers for "going back to school" and I feel sad and left out. I'm looking into substituting (I taught for 10 years so I know it's a different ball game) so I can have some other contact with people. It still won't be the same, but it would be something.

My daughter is all grown up also. It is helpful knowing I'm not alone in this situation. I think I may need to start back on some anti depressants though---feeling extra low since I went off of the Wellbutriun.

Hi everyone.

I am 38 yrs old, married, 2 kids. I recently experienced the loss of my father to a very rare brain virus. The disease lasted only 4 months, and we (my family) watched him slip away more and more every day. We buried him 3 weeks ago.

As soon as my dad got sick, I started experiencing some strange physical symptoms. Had a few tests run that all came back OK, diagnosed with anxiety. Now I think I may be dealing with anxiety, grief and depression.

I'll start a thread about my situation, and see what everyone has to say.

Nasha I to i seeking subbing jobs for the school yeay so i bee the same hrs of my daughter for school, you dont need a certificate, ther is an all dy workshop i will attend, andhopefully will get the job, just hope i can keep the job. I have sevree back and knee problems i would need to sit alot an get up and walk around some too.

I have taught preschool before, and workd alot with dferenta ged kids, so i have a good chance at getting the job they really need subs.

I kill pot plants too so gave up on them years ago so far the kids have survived .well all except one i lost him just over twelve months ago .
But these days i just look after animals of the furrie kind and some of the human kind .Atleast the furrie ones don`t treat me like dirt .

Hello everyone,

My user name is poco but I don't mind giving my real name which is Jeri. And yes I am a girl. I am 35 married with 3 children. My oldest is 17,15,and 11. I have suffered with depression for years but the last 3 or so have been severe. I was in and out of the hospital 11 times in a year and half. I have tried a whold cocktail of meds  till I have finally got on some that are working for me. I have been out of the hospital for over a year now, wohoo for me! I have been maintaining fairly well. I do have a vns implant. I don't know if that is working for me too or if it that and the combo of the meds. I went through to series or ECT'S. I really don't think they worked for me. And the side affect of memory loss sux. Or that may be from my fibromyalgia. I am not sure if the memory loss is the ECT'S because the were supposed to be short term. It's been about 2 years now since my last series of ECT'S so the side effect should have gone away so like I said It may be from Fibro. Has anyone else had the ECT'S? OR the VNS implant? I would be intrested to see how they worked for others. I don't know how to list meds and diagnosis at bottom like others so I will just tell you what I have. Severe depression, PTSD, Bipolar, anxiety, panic attacks,and various mood disoders i wont go into. I do have fibro, IBS, Osteoprosis, chronic fatigue. And so on..... I take a whole varitey of meds. I will glady tell you if you want to know. I do take seroquel which I think is great but makes you gain weight. But I have company that just showed up so if you want to know the meds just ask or any other questions and I will gladly tell you. I am so glad I found this site. It has been so helpful. I really appeciate the support.
