Welcome to the Healingwell Family. I am sorry about that low self esteem issue but am very glad to read you are in therapy.  It may be getting better slow but it is getting better.....that is awesome.

Know you need to love yourself and how you see yourself is what really matters.  I am so glad you found us.

Glad to make your acquaintance,and hope you're having more good days than bad.Sounds like you've really got a handle on your situation,and a realistic view of therapy,and how long it can take,You're making progress,and it sounds like you're doing your best to put your therapy into practice,challenging negative thoughts about yourself.You should feel very proud about this----I know how hard it can be.
You will always find a sympathetic/empathetic ear on this site,so I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to post about the bad days as well as the good.Your experiences can help others--you can be a real asset on a site like this.But if you're down or feeling isolated,there's always someone somewhere on this site who can offer support.I've found this site a real blessing,and as I'm very isolated,it offers me human contact.

Doug Rooney----sorry I haven't acknowledge your post until now(only came across it this a.m.)I hope this site will give you support,and the opportunity to share whatever's on your mind,without fear of judgement.I'm very sorry you didn't get support from the very people you'd expect to get it.There are so many friendly,kind people on this site,and I hope you'll find it as helpful as I have.Everybody here has experience of depression/anxiety,and also physical problems,so there's usually someone who has had similar problems to yourself.I am very ill at present,but have received such kindness and positivity from this site.It's done me good.I hope you have the same experiences.

I truly feel for you,as I have suffered with depression/anxiety,sometimes with psychotic symptoms,for many years,and I can only imagine what it must be like to watch someone you love go through this.I hope you will find this site can support you while your husband is ill-----you're under a lot of stress,and I hope you'll find the people on this site as friendly and caring as I have.Don't feel guilty or selfish for talking about your own stresses and problems;this site will provide support for you during this time.
Your husband seems to be getting all the medical care/medication he needs,and he has your support,which is the best thing.The problem with the kind of problems your husband has,is that return to health can take a while,and while his meds are still being adjusted,things will tend to go up and down.It can take some time to get the balance of meds right---I know people who have done really well on certain drugs,but I just can't take them due to side effects.
It's also a good thing that he is seeing a psychiatrist regularly,as hopefully they will get to know your husband,and what works for him.
Your husband's lethargy could be a result of his meds--again,his Dr can help with that.The low self esteem tends to go along with depression,unfortunately,so I hope the meds kick in soon--that's another thing,anti-depressants can take a few weeks to start working.
My husband has had to see me through many episodes of illness,and I so love and appreciate him for it---I bet your husband is finding your help and your very presence a comfort.You're going through a terrible time,but now you've found this site,there will always be someone hear to listen and support.I hope you will feel less isolated,knowing that anyone you talk to on this site will give you comfort and help.Everyone has experiences to share,and in time,you may be able to help others with your experiences.But that's looking too far ahead.Say whatever you need to say,get whatever is troubling you off your chest,and know that there's no judgemental stuff here,just support and love.

hi again. i think painting gives a little meaning to my existence but at the same time painting to me is like taking a dive in an ocean of sadness wich is my head. i, never taken medication or sought professional help.often i am abussive with alcohol and other drugs wich probably only makes things alittle worse. my family and friends are around but i still feel alone, i guess i need to help myself really but right now i'm just a bit tired of fighting through existence. my life isn't hard specially compared to others but it tires me,sometimes i find it pointless

Hello, I am a 24 year old woman with a long history of social anxiety. But over the past few months have developed many depression symptoms. I come here in the hopes of guidance and possibly to make new friends.

 Fragileheartkidd. Please read my story and then go see your DR. about trying some anti-depressent meds.I felt a big change in a very short bit of time after I went on them. I just wish I would have started them a few years ago.
