medication question (adding more)

Currently I am on 60 mg cymbalta for MJD, I have noticed that its the only thing added into my life since gaining a significant amount of weight, and feeling sleepy all the time. I have been doing a bit of web research today, and found that adding Welbutrin to the Cym might be able to combat the weight gain and sleepyness.

Is anyone out there on this combination, and how is it working? What should I expect in the way of side effects and dosage amounts? I can deal with being tired (im Rheum Arthritis, and Lupus, so im used to wanting to go to bed), but this weight gain is killing me, and now no matter what I do i can't seem to get it off, and my thyroid levels have checked out normal (and for anyone wondering yes im not just empty complaining - avg of 1300-1500 calories a day with an avg of min 15 mins max 45 mins excersise a day).

Oh and does anyone know if a 15mg-25mg dossage of Topamax would have negative side effects (my doctors are morons so i do as much research as possible before going to them, so i can question their descions lol) i'd be going on it for 3 months for scar therapy.

The topamax will help you lose weight too. It is an anti seizure medication actually (I think), but also used for depression and to lose weight. My doctor was going to put me on it and then decided not too.

I am still trying to lose weight, I have fibromyalgia and ever since then I have been gaining. I walk daily too. Well, I am maintaining, not gaining any more. But can't seem to lose. Tomorrow I am going for a long walk with a friend. Plus I walk my dogs everyday. Sometimes it gets so frustrating.

Well your luck just turned.............I take Cymbalta 60 mg and small dose of Wellbutrin to help control the weight. I was going for a switch over by the weaning did not go well and the Wellbutrin at a higher dose gave me a head daily.

I may have dropped a bit of weight but did not gain anymore.
