Zoloft made me and my breastfeed baby gain weight!!

So I got on Zoloft when I had my four month old baby! After about 1 1/2 month I started noticing I was gaining weight!! I gained 8 lbs in about 2 months! And I'm 19 and never have had a weight problem!! I stopped as soon as I realized it was the Zoloft making me eat like crazy!! I learned from from this sight that it was Zoloft! When I stopped I lost the weight back withing 2 weeks and I stopped being so hungry! My doctor says Zoloft doesn't cause weight gain and hes out of his mind!!! Also, when i stopped taking it my little babe lost a lb! :/ And she started being so0o much more happy! The test show that Zoloft doesn't affect the babies but it does! just like it makes you a fat cow!!! I stopped cold turkey and i did have some dizziness but it wasn't that bad!!

I think that different anti depressants work differently on many people. Just because it doesn't cause many people to gain weight, doesn't mean it is that way for everybody. It sounds like you need a different anti depressant. Maybe when you are done breast feeding.

Let your doctor know what happened, even if you have to point out that he was wrong in his assessment.

Hang in there. I have taken cymbalta for a while and it is common to get more comfortable which can lead to more eating. Just keep a food log for a few days in this helps to keep in front of you. Give meds a few weeks to effect, but I have been helped alot. - jbentley
