I just can't wait to die.  I'm so sick of my piece of garbage life.  I don't understand how anybody can be happy?   but like everything else in my life, I'm sure I would fail at that too.  I just want to die.  I'm so sick of therapy and I'm so sick of people telling me what I should and shouldn't do.  Enough is enough.

Edit per content:

No discussion of any illegal activity or threats of violence. (ie. illicit drug use, including medical marijuana use, threats of suicide or self-injury, or threatened or intended physical harm).  Discussions of suicide or self-harm that are deemed negative and therefore potentially injurious to others are also not permitted.

I'm so sorry you're feeling like that, but there is hope. We are all here caring about you, and wishing you well. I know some days are tough, but you can get through it, and find some happiness in life. Tell us what's going on with you. Vent to us. There will be someone here to listen!

moonman....share more about yourself and maybe you can see what life lays ahead....do you have any disorders beside depression ?...married ? kids ? schooling ? job ?......share with us here.....most of us have been there and experienced stuff.....we are here to share, not judge...you took the time to write a post so it seems to me that you are looking for a better life....I  am willing to chat with you here.....life is a one time experience...once gone you will not wake up and do things on this earth....share please......God bless, you as you walk this shadow of death experience...look to the light..........warm regards

Hi Moonman,

As Becky and Chappie said, we are here to listen to you and not too judge, but if you would, tell us a little more about your situation so that we can try to help you. Are you going to a counselor? Are you taking medication? There are so many things that you could share and hopefully we can advise you into the right direction. We have all been where you are and it is always nice to have somebody to care.

Moonman--I'm not gonna tell you what to do or what not to do but I can relate to your feelings. I thought I had no reason to go on, I disliked the people I work with and I felt that I would be forever in a job I hated. I was constantly dreaming about being creative, but I never could finish the projects I started or had anything go right.  On top of that My wife and best friend of 11+ years told me she didn't have feelings for me anymore. I was frustrated and at the lowset point of my life. But a friend reminded me that God said He knew me before I was born and that He had a plan for my life. I knew that I needed to trust God and not worry about things I really had no control over anyway. As I tried getting to know how God wanted me to live my life by looking at other peoples needs and helping them the best I could, I started feeling less like a failure. My life is still a mess right now but I have seen a few bright spots. I actually have finally finished a couple of songs and performed them at a local open mic.  " The LORD is close to those who are broken hearted "  Psalm 34:18   Please Moonman keep talking and searching!!!

moonman, welcome to the forum glad you found us, you are worth it! GOD loves us all, he's got a plan for everyone including you. Don't loose hope with therapy and conseling, it doesn't usually work right away, it needs time and patience. you have received good advice from the members here. I have bin fighting depression for 9 years and it's a continues fight. you have to build your patience and tolerance slowly. also make sure you don't have other problems like hypertension etc, try and record your blood pressure and see if it's abnormal, check your sugar levels, thyroid function ( blood test ) , B12 because these all can affect your mood, stability and energy. myself I discovered my thyroid function is not working well so I started taking medicine for that, now it's at the normal level and I feel better, since then I even stoped taking my anti-depresant zoloft and I don't feel any depression at the moment, well nothing serius anyway, you can't fully get rid of depression it's part of our brain really.

Moonman Please go somewhere to get the help you need.Please leason to someone who did try to take there life and came very close to doing it.You really do not want to do this.A year ago I tried to take my life .The DR`s gave me only a 10 % chance of living.What I can tell you from my experience is that life is truly a gift that we need to learn to give thanks for.What a difference a year has made in my life and it doesn`t need to take a year it can change so fast.Can you even imagine how happy I am today that *** let me fail last year.I live with pain from my waist down every day now from what I did but I am still happy to be alive.If you need someone to talk to my E-Mail is listed on the left.

Moonman, You have taken a step in the right direction already. Life is a precious gift. Don`t give up. Find a way to get help. Where ever However Keep posting, see a doc, what ever it takes. I have felt the exact same way. I know the despair. I know the feeling of how easier it would be to not have to deal with life. I fight that feeling just about every day and even sometimes get tired of fighting off the despair. You cannot give in. You have friends and hope here. Talk to us, with us, we will listen and understand as we have all been there.

Dear Moonman , I'm feeling just like you now. No food i eat can satisfy my hunger, no drug or medication can bring me happiness or content. I'm feeling so down inside that i lost complete interest in life. If it wasn't for a few friends that kept me laughing when i hit rock bottom, i would have taken my life already. So my advice to you is: find something you can keep living for. I learned how to play the piano, so every now and then, i just play and let my emotions hang out on the instrument. It helps a lot. You must be good at something!!! so just hang on to that and let it bring you peace of mind. I hope you well friend.

This thread is a couple of years old and moonman hasn't been around in awhile. Though if he is subscribed to the thread, he will get a message that somebody posted.

I am sorry that you are feeling down. I hope that you feel better soon. I would also like to welcome you to the forum. This is a hard time of the year, and I think everybody is a little down. We try to help eachother up again.

Read some of the more recent posts. You might feel better or be able to help somebody else feel better. I hope that you continue to post.

Seek help, I know you said you are sick of therapy, please hear me talking is the best therapy, even if you keep posting and let some of our forum members help you. Life can be good!!!!

I will keep you in my prayers.....I hope you post even if you just need to vent, we are her to listen not judge.

Moonman, I know how you feel. I am so exhausted trying to do the right thing praying every day that God will take me. Just wish I could slip away in my sleep. Don't want to take my own life and cause shame to my children. Also my Mother whom I love to death has already lost 2 children to death and I don't want her to be in any more pain than she is. Why can't God hear my prayers? I'm in a horrible marriage with a cheating spouse and my kids are too young for me to take my life. Besides my faith looks at suicide as a sin. I go through life barely alive waiting to die.

You have come to a good place, so welcome to the forum!

You will find that light at the end of the long exhausting road you have been traveling, and we will help you to get there. I hope that by the time you read this that you are feeling somewhat better. It isn't going to happen all at once, but it will happen. One day at a time.

Are you going to any counseling, or taking and meds? Are you getting any help for the depression? I sure hope so, because it is a hard road to go without help. Keep posting. I hope the new year brings you some hope.

Moonman,

I was critically injured in a surgery that on review did not need to be done. Misread of pre-op scan (I didn't know was misread at the time) then things took off from there. Lost the use of my healthy rectum and healthy colon permanently and for 7 months lost the use of my healthy small intestine.

I had to see 11 docs at 7 medical centers nationwide over 13 months during which time I was unable to eat due to recurring small bowel adhesion obstructions. FINALLY found one place that diagnosed what was going on then had to look to another place to find the ONE person who would help me. A doc that was in medicine for all the right reasons; to save lives. Took dense adhesions off my small bowel and made me an ileostomy stoma. Hey, it was better than being left to die right? Once you have adhesions even though the ones that strangled off the small bowel are gone, new ones can grow. Not an easy thought to live with but I have not been just sitting around. I came up with this bucket list and am fulfilling it. I have travelled most of the world and am still doing it. I learned to ballroom dance. I even had sort of a romance. My career as a teacher is long over, but there are other things. I love nature and animals. I now stop and smell the roses. I am NOW living life.

I hope that physically you are OK and can get help with the depression. If you are all together and well physically, then you have it all!!!!! DO NOT WASTE THE PRECIOUS GIFT OF PHYSICAL HEALTH!
