Question about Paxil Withdrawal

Called my shrink (I will be looking for another) and she said it's impossible to have withdrawal effects since I was only on the drug for 7 days and at only 5 mgs. I want to go back on because I need my life back, but the side effects were getting to me. Burning down my arms, chest, back of neck, and a horrid headache.

Please, can you have withdrawals that fast or is it all in my head? I'm debating about taking a small dose prior to bed.

No, nothing else meds wise have changed. I've been feeling the zapping since day one and the burning sensation as well. The shrink seems to think that it's just my anxiety manifesting itself. Oy! When I told her today that I was thinking of switching and that I was having worsening of the zaps she told me impossible - especially on the low dose I'm on. However, she has no idea how my system works and I'm extremely sensitive to meds.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if I'll start back on the Paxil tomorrow or not, I was just scared that I could be effecting something in my body by skipping today's dose.

I wantd to throttle her over the phone. I was getting angry and she kept her voice very monotone, insisting that you can't get withdrawals on 7 days of a small dose. And that's why she gets paid $325 for 1 1/2hrs! I know for a fact that a friend of mine had the hardest time getting on the paxil the first few weeks,but she had a compassionate dr who told her to hang in there, that yes her symptoms were real and they would pass. I don't want to listen to crud about it's only my anxiety manifesting itself and that's why I'm feeling what I am. My symptoms aren't real. Infuriating. Let her feel what I am then tell me if they're real or not.
