 Well before I go into recent issues, I just wanna exlpain that I have severe PTSD due to being raped and beaten.

 Recently; I just recovered from being homeless. Thankfully my mom opend a bed and her doors to me for a while. I was accepted into college. I just not found out today that I am unfortionatly failing and on the verge of being kicked out.  Also i was just attacked again. I was robbed in broad daylight, and no one stopped to help me. There were plenty of people around who just watched. So needless to say I am now scared to walk alone any more. I also live in a city where you squeal about something like that, you are killed the next day. I am simple asking for help on what to do. I am scared because I keep getting these thoughts of . I know it's not right. I need some help, but i have no idea where to turn too.

I'm so sorry to hear about all you've been through. You've turned to a good place, the people here at HW are so caring and understanding.

Have you gone to a doctor about all that you've been through? Do you take any medicines to help with the PTSD? Did you go to any kind of counseling for the rape? Knowing some of these things could maybe help us know what the next step to helping you might be.

You are obviously a strong person, given what all you have been through.

I'm sure others will come along with more advice. Hang in there!

Wow, that's awful...it sounds like you have really been through the wringer. I agree with what the previous poster said; you must be a very strong person to have dealt with all this, but you don't have to go through it alone.

I would look in the phone book or online for a rape crisis center, or call your college counseling office for suggestions. Even though the rape isn't recent your feelings and PTSD are still very real, and a local rape crisis center should be able to refer you to some resources. They also should have some support group recommendations.

Welcome to healing well. I am sorry for what you have been through. Are you going to any counseling for the ptsd? I would highly recommend it.

It sounds like you have become very anxious of going out and I can understand why. Is there anyway that you could move to another neighborhood? I would recommend that also.

You might want to check out our anxiety forum also. I know that you are dealing with a lot of anxiety right now with the fear of going out and the danger that you face when you do.

Moving sounds like an option to me. It is something that you should consider. It doesn't sound safe where you are. Keep posting and let us know how things are going.

Hi ThrowDown,

I'm terribly sorry to read what you have been through. It is totally understandable why you would be suffering from PTSD. You've had excellent advice already about getting some counselling and seeing what your options are as far as relocating. I have had PTSD counseling from a therapist who specializes in abuse, after having terrible anxiety and panic attacks following an abusive marriage. It has helped me enormously. I hope, very much, that you will be able to do the same, and have the same relief and comfort for yourself. It's good that you posted here. There are a lot of wonderful people who care and are willing to lend support.

wow, you are a fighter. you've made it this far and that is great. please see a doctor who can treat and diagnose you properly. talk to people who care and stay safe. I wish you nothing but the best.

i too am a survivor. (a sequale of child abuse). still kickin'...and used the services of the rape crisis centre in my country. very helpful indeed. agree with other posts. keep on kickin' we are here for you.

my compassion to you. jamiee. 37 male, iddm, major depression, severe borderline personality disorder, diabetic nuropathy, (feet) hormone deficency, plumbing probs, back etc. other bits and pecies.

I didn't know if you knew this, but you can go to your profile and put in a permanent signature, I notice that you type it in each time. I thought that maybe you didn't know about this. That way it will always be there. But we are not allowed to go more than ten lines.

 I honestly thank you all for your support. It really makes me feel alot better knowing that people care. Honestly there is a reason i live where i do and moving is not an option at the moment. I don't have money to do it. I am a student right now and working. I am putting myself through school, with a little help from loans and blah blah. I can't afford to go see a doctor, and it's really hard for me to talk to someone face-to-face. I appreciate all the responces. It makes me feel much beter. Thank you all. I will deffinatly check out the anxiety forum.

Does your college have a student health center? If so, they may be able to help you with medications.
Also, if you're up for it, give your guidance counselor a call to let them know what's going on with your classes. Sometimes there are ways to get extensions or such on your coursework/tests. Also, they may be able to find you a volunteer tutor to help you.

I know I am like millions of other people out there. But I can't stop my thoughts.. Why am I here... I can't stand myself.... What do I do... Am I really crazy..God I feel like a dumbcrap even coming here...I know better... but I can't help it...What do I do..... If anyone out there understands let me know....
if not.... so what I am screwed...witch I already knew...

It sounds like you have a lot of questions, like I use to have. But I learned that if you just take life one day at a time, all these other things start to fall into place. And then you understand so much better.

The "college" i go to isn't exactly a college with a campus on it or anything. It is a tech (or "trade") school. I go there during the day and come home at night. I thank you for your ideas and sapport. I have found someone to talk to who isn't charging me much but to clean her office. I honestly hope you all find the help you need.
