hello it;s my first day here and i need help i am dealing with alot right know my brother might go to jail and my boifriend lost his job i am feelin so empty god please help me i dont want to hurt no more

its just that i am so confused i dont want to be unhappy becuase my life is great sometimes but lately i been very sad over the lil things i cry out of nowhere and my showers get longer and longer i dont want to be alone becuase i think of all i been though in my life losing my mother to a hit and run and getting raped when i was 14 i want to live a happier life ..........

Hi Rickay,

It sounds like you have had a lot of pain in your life. It's hard to put things in the past when you've had traumatic events like the ones you describe, especially when you have lost a loved one who can no longer be there to comfort you. Do you have someone in your life right now who you talk to when you are sad? Is your boyfriend a good comfort to you?

yea he is but he has his own problem he lost his job so i don't want him to be stress i love so much i think i need a vacation i want to get help and talk to someone asap because i want the confusing to go away

Yeah, I can understand why you don't want to put too much on your boyfriend because of him losing his job. Do you have someone else that you trust, like a friend or neighbour or someone at church or your job? Maybe you could even talk to your doctor, to see if he/she could get you some counseling to help you feel better....? I know it's hard to open up to people sometimes, but it's really good to be able to share your problems and talk things out. I see a counselor, and she is really helpful to me.

i don't know who i can trust but i am looking for help but i am glad i can talk to someone on here but my big worry is that when i am at work i don't have no one to help me when i get upset or whe customer drive me nuttz i wish this site had a website that i can use on my aol or on my blackberry but i am also so upset out of nowhere sometimes but most of all is it crazy that i am sad when people are sad and happy when they are happy but i know now i have someone that wont judge me thanks i am going to try to work on my anger and get help i am a great person and i deserve to be happy ..........

Yes! You are a great person and deserve to be happy, Rickay. :-) I am so glad to read that in your post.

I can tell that you really relate to people, the way you pick up their energy when they are happy or sad. That must make you a good friend to others. You can always come here to talk to us, because the people here are great, and they won't judge you.

ahhhhh

it's a new afternoon and just got out of a company meeting i was feeling fine but now i want to cry again and i am always feeeling scared i dont know what to do i have asked my self this question "why am i happy when i am working and sad when i am not? "

Hi Rickay,

This almost sounds like an anxiety issue. Maybe when you are working, you have a purpose and a schedule. Your time is being manipulated and you have a place to be. When you get off work, you are free, on your own. You have to schedule your own things to do. You don't have a schedule or a certain job to do at a certain time. I don't think I am explaining this very well. But some things make us feel normal. And when that normalcy is gone we experience an anxiety about it. Does that make any sense? Does it seem scarey when you are not at work? I really think that this sounds like a type of anxiety. I am not saying that I don't think you are depressed, because depression and anxiety can go hand in hand. I just wonder if you have anxiety too.

I hope that you can feel more relaxed. Maybe make a schedule of things that you want to do when you aren't working. That might help.

Tell us a bit more about your work as that seems to make you feel good.  What kind of work do you do?  If your uncomfortable talking about your work that is fine.  :)

I know I feel good when I am at work as I feel needed and  I enjoy having others around to talk to.

you may be right because like 6 months ago i had a break down and i fell in the shower because i thought i had no air and i had to go to the ER and they ran a lot of exams and they found nothing but i have had anxiety so bad that i have ended up with a acid reflex that burn my entry
inside i feel that when i am alone i think to much and i need to understand that i cant do it all but i am very happy to have people to talk too

Hi Rickay,

There are medications that are specifically for anxiety, and therapy is a really good option, too. I go to therapy, and I use relaxation breathing exercises when I am feeling really stressed out, and meditation, which helps me to focus on one peaceful or pleasant thing, instead of all the things that are upsetting me.
