I am a 45 year old woman who was diagnosed 20 years ago with Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personalities) I have worked with two great therapists who are both dedicated and caring. Two weeks ago (on May 8th) I experienced my final integration. I am having a hard time adjusting and became very depressed because I just don't seem to know how to function this way. My therapist says this is normal (so do the books and other information I have) but it doesn't make it less frightening and depressing. I joined this forum so that I might be able to build an online support system to help me through this rough patch.

I am so glad you started a thread of your own and you have come to the right place to build a support group to help you through the tough times.

I have found so much support, sharing and yes love from the members of this forum so do trust the members to support you.

I am sorry you are feeling down but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and if you put one foot in front of the other, you will get to that light.

Trust in the power of a peer support group.

hi pastoram, welcome, u are doing well, acceptance from yourself, will inturn breed others to acceptance too. me, mdd, and my rare one for males, severe borderline personality disorder, yeah i have a disassociation component, varied from d.i.d, but i understand the complexeties of the depressive elements, its affect and effects. stay true, be u, we care, i send much luv and peace your way. jamie, 37, male

I'm not very good at being patient with or kind to myself, I think I should be all better NOW. But I'm working on it. Thank you again for the support.
