Really Hard Time

I have been in a mental facility twice in the last 2 months. I've been doing really bad.... and having my meds switched around makes me feel better and worse at the same time! I've been trying to write out my feelings... so if you want to visit my blog- maybe you could give me some comments and some input. On the writing itself or, hopefully, some helpful words on the depression. Thanks in advance. I could use a friend.

Welcome to HealingWell! I am so glad you are here. I am sure others will be along in no time to welcome you.
I did edit your post, just to remove the link to the blog. We do have youth as young as 13 on this Forum and the blog does not really seem appropriate for a younger audience. If individual members are interested, they can contact you by email to get the link.

I do want to encourage you that a lot of people feel much worse for a while when their meds are first changed. Often, it does get better after several weeks -- sometimes it takes switching meds 3 or 4 times to find one that works without too many side effects. I do want to wish you well in trying to find a good med for you. Hang in there!

Keep posting here! There are a lot of wonderful people who I know have been a great source of support to me and many other members.

I am sorry for all that you are going through, but as Frances said, it sometimes takes a while to find the right meds for us. So try to be patient and see how things go. I hope that you find the right meds soon.

Know that the members here at HealingWell know how you are feeling and understand your pain. Know that we are here for you, so keep posting as we would like to get to know you better.

Hope you get better soon! It does take awhile. I've been on paxil for years for my depression and it seems to be helping me deal with it. Stay positive and things will get better. I'll be praying for you!

I didn't even think about kids in terms of my blog! I'm so glad you took that out! Thank you. Thanks to everyone for your caring welcome. Can we discuss specific meds here? I would be curious to see if the ones I'm on are any that y'all have experience with...

Yes, you can discuss specific meds on the Forum. In accordance with the rules, members cannot promote a particular med & it should be understood that the advice given on the Forum is for support, not medical advice which should only be provided by a doctor.

That said, there are a lot of posts from other members discussing the meds they're on, or meds they're considering and what the benefits, side effects or negative effects of taking those meds have been. Many of our members have a great deal of experience with many meds & can share their personal experiences with particular meds. Of course, everyone is different so for any given med you are likely to get responses both from people who hate it & from people who love it. :)

But we're all sharing the same struggle & anything we can do to commiserate with one another or otherwise make things a bit easier on each other, that's what we're here for.

I am glad you understand about our rules to protect the members.  Frances explained it well.  :)

We often have members asking for information and sharing re their meds so please do post your questions. You can also use our search feature button at the top and type in the name of the medication and find other posts with info on the medication.  This often works well for many.
