i've tried all those things for the tricotillamania.
i've just started seeing a new counselor who does dialectic behavior therapy.
when i go on walks my mind usually wanders to bad places.

You need to learn to keep your mind in the 'now' Tessy. Your new doctor can probably help you with that. Don't let your mind wander. You can do this. It just takes practice. Learn to look at the things around you and learn to appreciate nature and stuff like that. You can do this... I know...

tess, karen is right. same situation needs different focul thought. mindfulness practice is excellent, me i get great pleasure and oneness with candle gazing. when a thought enters, recognise the thought and let it go. so try this on your walks, see a bird, recognise, let it go, etc. seems overly simplistic.......over time it is calming and harmonising ......in all aspects of life. wishing you well. with loving compassion. jamie

i usually do this pretty well just at work and a few other places my mind goes to bad places. i've got today off and i'm enjoying it a bit but i feel anxious, gonna take some hydroxyzine to see if it helps

Hi Tess, I am wondering how you are doing today. I'm so glad you are seeing a DBT therapist. How was your day off? I hope the hydroxyzine helped you. Let us know how things are going when you get a chance.

still pretty stressed today even though i didn't work. i did some errands and that helped a bit but i still have some stuff to do that will have to wait until tomorrow cause i just burned out on errands

I am glad that you got your errands done today. I had errands too and everything seemed to be messed up. No matter what it was. So now that I am done, I am relaxing for the rest of the day. Well until it is time to do dishes.

Depression causes you to feel tired. So that is normal for depression. Are you taking any medications or going to any therapy? I can't remember...

Yes I have seen the depression tired. My wife slept Sat night from 2am to 12PM then fell asleep again around 3-4 when son took nap.. I have a hard time taking naps unless I am exhausted..

me, a tad schiz in thought in the evenings. doc appt on the 14th. will talk about reinstating the abilify for a second time, and or if he has any other ideas. sorry for talkin about me on your thread tess. apologies. with loving compassion 2 you both. me. aka jamie!!

right now i'm on zoloft (an anti depressant) and hydroxyzine (an antihystemine that also helps with anxiety). i'm seeing a dbt counsellor once a week and soon i should be put in a group dbt.

it's not helping yet cause we've had to spend the first two sessions doing paperwork.

i'm using facebook but i keep seeing my mom's pic on there which makes me extremely depressed because she's still not talking to me.

Tess I see that modd swing from my wife.. It is a very hard thing to adjust too.. Try to think about something i the future you are loking forward too or plan something. It will brighten your day.. Good luck..

went to dbt today. i've felt like crying every day but couldn't, was finally able to at counselling.

That was a huge breakthrough. I am really happy for you. I know that you feel sad, but you will feel better each time. So remember that it is good to cry sometimes.
