Lunesta......how many how often?

Is there any others here that has had a problem getting their Lunesta refilled. My hubby got new insurance and for the last 3 months I had no problem getting my Lunesta filled. All of a sudden this month I tried to get it fill and was informed that I am only allowed 90 tablets in 144 days. So I have gotten my 90 in the past 3 months. Gee, it would have been nice of them to have told me that in the beginning. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problems.........

Hi Kathy,

That isn't even enough for one pill a day. What is up with your insurance company? I would talk to somebody about it. I am sorry that you are having such difficulty.

I hope that you get thing the way that they are suppose to be with your medications.

Some insurance companies require some type of justification from your doctor. Your insurance should have a lists available regarding "medication caps". I had the same problem w/ ambien. My doctor just switched me to klonopin, which is cheaper and works fine.

I have also had the same problem with refills. Yes, my insurance co required the dr office to fill out special paper work. What a hassle! Just hoops they make you jump through. I think they are hoping you will give up.

I was taking Lunesta. Only tried for 3 nights, as I couldn't sleep with it. First it took me over an hour to fall asleep, and then I was awake every 20 min!! Crazy. All I wanted to do was sleep, and here I was awake all night shocked !! Anyways I was given the 3 mg tabs, and the first night broke in half. Maybe if your taking the 1 or 2 mg, you can ask your doctor for the 3 mg next visit, and break in half? Maybe it will last you longer? Check with your pharmacy though?

since i am in a different country i do not know your insurance system or what this medication is. just wanted to say hi and hope you get your prescription filled. stay well and positive. jamie.
