I think I just lost a friend

I've been hiding this secet about my dog for a long time. Like im really scared to take him outside because Im afriad of him getting rabies, so he does his business inside the home. And I told my friend that, and she stopped responding to me and started ignoring me. I see her in school tomorrow, what should I do?

Hi Blitzball. In trying to prevent your dog from getting ill with rabies, you are really hurting him. There is nothing as wonderful as seeing your dog run and play out in the open. Once you get the dog a rabies shot, he'll be fine. It sounds as though your friend is not a very tolerant person.

I just wanted to add, along with the very good points made by members before me, to also just consider the fact that you are with him the whole time you take him out for a walk, or most importantly at the moment, to just use the bathroom. Once you are taking him out to just do his business, it will be a much smaller and easier step to go take him on a short walk. Then each day, or every other day (just keep it regular until the walks are as long as they should be) walk just one mailbox, just one driveway further down the road. I think you will find that when you make it (which you will) to that point, both you and your dog will be much happier due to that stress in your (and his) life being alleviated. Along with the shots, I'd say your dog is about as safe as safe can be when you take him out for walks. Good luck and keep us posted with posts :)
