Hello, Pinch Weasel,
All of the members of the forum who are posting are giving you their
experiences with medications, and they are right up to date about
what works and how long you must persist in taking them to feel the full effects.
I have been there, too, and learned a lot by experimenting. For one
thing, (which started me on my search for a better way to eat- that
has been neglected lately) is that all medications are digested as acidic in your system. There's no getting around that. Feeling tone is radically affected by foods that have a high acidic value or residue in digestion. For example:
Do you drink a lot of milk? (Cut back on it; it's highly acidic.)
" " eat a lot of cheese (of all kinds) or use butter or cream often in your diet? All are highly acidic in digestion.
Do you use artificial sweeteners? They are highly acidic and have been shown to cause cancer. Only one of them (Stevia) has been indicated to be harmless in the diet to date.
If you eat or drink anything with caffeine in it, stop it, please. Caffeine makes the illness worse. (That means chocolate, tea, coffee,
or any over-the-counter medication containing caffeine.)
If you drink alcohol, please stop that right away. It makes the illness worse, deepens depression and makes it more difficult to recover from depression.
Finally, try to eat more salads and green vegetables, and include large
amounts of water (with lemon) if you really want to help your liver to
detoxifiy. You will renew your feeling tone so much more quickly and
even be able to tolerate drugs more readily. Water is going to help
remove the acid residue of medications.
Often, it's the acidic digestion that causes problems in trying to stabilize depression or sensitivity to drugs. If you don't pass the threshold for acidic foods and meds, your body is going to respond by giving you a superior feeling tone, even making it possible for you to
tolerate the antidepressant drugs much more readily.
It really helps.
Good wishes,

P. S. Forum members: I'm gearing up for surgery tomorrow A.M. and
will be back posting in two or three days, I think. Have fun and help
everyone whom you can.
Good wishes,
IG
