Good morning all!

 

I am new to this board, usually frequent the Chronic Pain forum, but figured since I have suffered from depression most of my life, I should hop on over here too.

 

I am a 31 year old wife and mother.  I have two boys, ages 10 and 11, and a wonderful husband who doesn't understand either my chronic pain or my depression, but gods love him he tries.

 

I was diagnosed at 12 years old with Manic Depression.  I have tried more meds in my life than I can recount, and Effexor XR seems to be the one that helps the most.  My biggest struggle with this med is the cost since I have NO insurance, and the generic is expensive too.  =(

 

Anyway, hope some of you are out enjoying sun, here in Montana it is grey and cloudy.

Hi Fyrfli,

Welcome to the Depression forum. I took effexor for a long time and it worked well for me, I also took a mood stabilizer called abilify. I still take the abilify, but switched to pristiq.

There is a site that has a drug discount card. I will have to find that for you if I can. One of the other moderators use to post it and I can't remember the exact name of the site, so I will try to get it for you.

I hope that today is a good day for you. It is cloudy here in Michigan too. We had thunderstorms all night. My dog let me know, she is afraid of them. lol... Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep.
