Hi everyone, I'm a young male and basically I just don't understand why I shouldn't just now, I have nothing to look forward to in my life and I really don't see why I should keep going. The rest of my life is going to be awful and why should I bust my rear everyday just so that I can be miserable and feel useless in the end. I'm at a particularly rough point and I really just need some clarification that just pushing really is the right decision.

Just wanted to welcome you to HW. I'm sorry that you are going through a rough time right now. I am unclear as to the reasons why you think that your life is worth ending. From what you say , you are a young man, and no matter what you are going through, God put us all here for a reason. You may not think that you have a reason to live, but I know that you do. Try to take the negative things in your life, and turn them into something positive. Ending your life is NOT the answer. I am sure that you have people in your life that care very deeply for you, I do and don't even know you. Life is full of many challanges and we have to face them head on so that we are able to grow as individuals. I would also recommend talking to someone about these issues. I'm glad that you found this forum, it is a great bunch of people going through the same things that you are. You are off to a great start!! We Care!! Please keep us posted.

I'm sorry you feel this way. Ending it is not the answer. You may not know what your purpose is now, but we are all here for a reason. I don't know why you feel you're not worth it, but I assure you, you are. We all are. There are those of us here whove been through dreadful things. It's a daily struggle, but we rely on each other for answers and comfort as should you. I think we've all pondered if our lives are really worth it. But truly, we are worth it. You are worth it. There is a wonderful community here with very compassionate people. We have all either been through or are going through similar situations. Hold on. Life isn't always easy, but there are definitely things in life that are worth living for. Remember those things. Good luck and God bless.

I wish I could be happy.
You will, I promise, with time and work. You didn't get this way over night, it's gonna take some time to get where you need to be.
I have felt like you, why keep going when all i will be is a disappointment to myself nd everyone else? but i kept going and I finally got help at 36. I am 37 now. I went through some therapy and found some amazing happy pills but it's still work everyday, but so worth it. I look back and feel like wow, I went through years of endless misery.. Countless "attempts" (trust me you have know idea how hard it is to succeed) the human body wants to survive an so does the human spirit.
It will get better, i promise, it has to.. Once you hit bottom, they day, the only way is up..it true.

Hello new member, I know what you are going through as I feel similar but i am 49. I have been struggling with major depression for a long time. What is good you are young and can learn some coping skills, skills that I did not start to learn about until only 12 months ago. Things will get better. At my worst, I could not stop crying for hours at a time, such despair, I am now much better but very mindful I can slip back down there. Good luck, this site is very good for support and has helped me through some of my worst times.

Dear I wish....welcome to hw forum...I am sorry you are feeling some down. First and foremost, If you truly feel you could harm yourself please go to the ER and talk to someone..reach out. 2) you have a whole lifetime a head of you...  3) make an appointment with a therapist and get your problems out in the open. Learn to Love yourself you are worth it. I will pray that you will find some happiness soon.  Hang in there and don't give up on you!

I have a teenage daughter that is going thru the pain you are in too.It breaks my heart to hearyou so nhappy.

She sees acounselor and takes meds now and is doing alot better. So that is my advice to you.
You are a precious valuble amazing human being, even if you don't feel like it. Hang in there, get a counselor, talk to someon and keep posting. We care

Thank you all seriously. I really don't want or plan to kill myself. This really helped and I'm glad I came here. I know I need help, but I feel like I'd be the family embarassment if everyone new I had depression. It just makes everything that much more difficult. But still thank you all, it actually kind of made me feel special for once knowing you guys actually cared. Thank you.

You DO matter...could you talk to a counselor at school? Do you go to church, a pastor will talk with you...or just keep[ talkig to us...How old are you? Are you active in any actuivites?

If tyour parents knew you were so sad, I'm sure they would not be embarassed...I was so glad my daughter cam to me and told me how she was feeling. It seems hard at first, but you would fel so much better if you could let them know

Don't be embarrassed. My dad is what I like to call a "holy roller." Don't get me wrong, I believe in God and his wisdom and guidance. But my dad once told me psychology was a fake profession. "You don't need them" he said. "Everybody just needs to quit crying and move on." Then I went off on him as to why I needed it and gave him way too much information and he shut up about it :)

Point is: if you need help, you need help. There's no shame in it. And here, we all understand and we do all truly care.

Don't let anyone keep you from getting help. At the end of the day, its you suffering, not them.

Hi there,

I changed the name of your thread. Well took some words out. We aren't allowed to discuss suicide here. I am glad that the members helped you to feel better. Keep trying, and know we have all been where you are. It is hard, I know... I have been there too. Know that we all care about you here. You are going to get support here. but you still need to get into counseling and maybe on some medication. I would start with the counsleing.

Take care, talk to somebody. Keep posting too.
