Netball, you and I both know you are trying as hard as you can to keep things together. You deserve a lot of credit for that. But...I'm not too sure the psychologist's idea of what is wrong is totally correct.
If your dad will let you, I'd ask to see a psychiatrist who can better direct your understanding of what's happening chemically in the brain... something that you and all of us have no real way to combat except to take the appropriate medications to get the chemistry of the brain back to a balanced condition. Trauma or abuse of any kind is capable of doing exactly what it has done to you---temporarily, I should add.
Would it help if you knew that the trauma you've been through could easily have thrown off the chemistry of the brain and that psychiatrists can recognize that in just one session, prescribing the appropriate medication to restore that balance?
Would you be strong enough to see yourself as a young lady who is
determined to have a good life, despite the injury to you by a man who was insane? You have the right to happiness in life, Netball. That's all the members here want for you.
I would go for a visit with a medical doctor and medication to get the chemistry balanced so that you don't have the moods that are devastating for you, but have a clear understanding that you are a worthy person and will become strong as you resolve the trauma.
Take care of yourself, Netball. Watch out for slippery places now--that means no drinking of alcohol, no drugs from the drug crowd on the streets, and associating with only those who are clean and honest--as will be your psychiatrist and others whom you see in the medical field.
Everyone here does care, believe me.
